The decks that love to use lessons really like early cards that turn into great card advantage

Same mana cost, triggers precombat, swaps two life for a card, one for a Token or three for a 3/2 and you can do a few here and there or all three

It scales especially well in Commander since you have more life to pay

Use Trailblazing Historian or The Fire Crystal to give Jumbo Cactuar haste and Ragged Playmate or Rogue's Passage to make it unblockable so you can kill your opponent with one attack for 10,000 damage
